About us

Effective Altruism Netherlands is the national organisation for effective altruism in the Netherlands. Since our founding in 2017, we have:

  • Built a national community with approximately 50 organisers
  • Worked with these organisers to provide ~100 events every year and graduate nearly 1,000 people from our introductory course
  • Featured in national publications like the Volkskrant, Trouw, Het Financieele Dagblad, and De Groene Amsterdammer
  • Hosted two EAGx events before there was an EAGx programme
  • Ran a series of workshops to improve institutional decision-making in the Dutch government
  • Repeatedly received funding from CEA's CBG programme
  • Been recognised as a Tier 1 Group in CEA's CBG programme
  • Helped kickstart 10 university groups in 6 months
  • Organised EAGxUtrecht 2024

Project Overview

We seek proposals from content creators and social media managers to help expand our reach and engage with a broader audience in the Netherlands. We aim to promote effective altruism as a vibrant space for intellectual exploration, groundbreaking research, and real-world impact and innovation.

Project Goals

  1. Create compelling content that introduces effective altruism to a wider audience and presents it as a vibrant space for intellectual exploration, groundbreaking research, and real-world impact and innovation.
  2. Increase engagement on our social media platforms and our website.
  3. Attract new members to our community (measured by newsletter signups), particularly researchers, policy professionals, entrepreneurs, and NGO professionals working on either animal welfare, extreme poverty, or improving the wellbeing of future generations.

Scope of Work

We are looking for proposals that consist of:

  1. The creation of a series of high-quality articles or blog posts in line with the above project goals (we have a content strategy but we are not wedded to it)
  2. The development and implementation of an associated social media strategy
  3. The creation of social media content (posts, graphics, etc.)
  4. Performance tracking and reporting

Key Requirements

  • Strong writing and communication skills (English) 
  • An understanding of the principles that unite effective altruism
  • Experience in managing social media accounts and WordPress websites, and creating engaging content
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining strong communication with our team

Budget and Timeline

  • Total Budget: €11,000 (including VAT, including all costs*)
  • Project Duration: 4 months
  • Target Start Date: Early October, 2024

We already have access to Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Rank Math, SEO Meta in 1 Click, Microsoft Clarity and Canva Premium.

Proposal Submission

  1. Your approach to creating engaging content about effective altruism in line with our goals
  2. Examples of previous work or portfolio
  3. Proposed timeline and deliverables
  4. Budget breakdown
  5. Your experience with effective altruism or related fields

Evaluation Criteria

Proposals will be evaluated based on:

  1. Quality and creativity of proposed approach
  2. Basic understanding of effective altruism principles
  3. Demonstrated ability to reach and engage target audiences
  4. Cost-effectiveness of the proposal
