As part of their mission to build a stronger advocacy movement in Central Asia, Anima International organized the first vegan festival in Uzbekistan – transferring organizing skills to local groups, and spreading knowledge about the modern animal welfare movement and effective altruism. The event was attended by 700 people.

Evidence Action

Evidence Action shared its year-in-review highlighting the global challenges their team tackled in 2024 — and what they didn't.

Faunalytics

Faunalytics released a new study, What Vegan Advocates Can Learn From The Social Spread Of Quitting Smoking. While smoking and animal product consumption are not perfect analogies, the decreasing popularity of smoking may be a worthwhile template for animal product reduction. By examining peer influences in smoking cessation, this review explores how social connections and relationships may drive the adoption of plant-based diets, offering insights for both advocacy and future research.

In 2024, Faunalytics made significant strides, including a comprehensive website redesign, the publication of eight original studies, and the expansion of its research library with visual, practical, and translated resources. Check out Faunalytics’ 2024 Year In Review and 2025 research plans here.
