Tyler Cowen (born 21 January 1962) is an American economist.

Cowen has made contributions to population ethics (Cowen 1989; Cowen 1996; Cowen 2004a), temporal discounting (Cowen & Parfit 1992; Cowen 2004b), cluelessness (Cowen 2006a), wild animal welfare (Cowen 2003), farmed animal welfare (Cowen 2006b), the long-term future (Cowen 2007), the long-run significance of economic growth (Cowen 2018), and other topics.
