Marginal Funding Week is a time where organizations share their funding needs and outline specific plans for additional funding. During this week, organizations explain their "funding gaps" - the difference between their current resources and what they need to achieve their goals - and explain what they would do with marginal funding.

Following its success in 2023, which resulted in significant direct donations and seemingly influenced voting patterns in the Donation Election, participation in Marginal Funding Week has become a requirement for organizations wishing to be eligible for the Donation Election 2024. Organizations must post at least one comment or post during this week to qualify.

However, participation is valuable beyond the Donation Election. All charitable organizations are encouraged to share their funding needs and plans during this week, regardless of their eligibility or interest in the Donation Election, as it provides an important platform for connecting with potential donors and sharing their mission.
