Overcome is offering six free coaching sessions focused on helping you build a new habit that helps you become more impactful.

The Programme

Each session is designed to provide structure and accountability so that you can make tangible progress on your chosen goal. You might choose anything from starting to exercise regularly or a new diet, to promoting self-care to prevent burnout.

Our coaches are volunteers who are typically psychology graduates, trained by us to help you design and stick to a concrete action plan.

We can help with:

  • Procrastination
  • Building a healthy lifestyle (e.g., diet, exercise, sleep)
  • Unhealthy habits (e.g., doomscrolling)
  • Stress (e.g., relationships / major life transitions)
  • Low mood, anxiety, or phobias

How It Works

  • Session Duration and Frequency: Typically weekly 45-minute video calls. You can schedule your sessions flexibly, but choosing the same time each week works better.
  • Our Approach: We don’t focus on the past, we focus on the present and future. Your coach will help you achieve your goals by creating detailed action plans, then help you identify stumbling blocks and troubleshoot issues to keep you on track. Your coach can also offer a listening ear and reflective space to organise your thoughts.  
  • Beyond Six Sessions: You can arrange additional sessions with your coach on either a free or paid basis, depending on your preference. Any session fees will be paid directly to your coach, Overcome takes no commission.

Why We’re Doing This

We’ve recently recruited more coaches, and our marketing hasn’t quite caught up with our capacity. Historically, our pilot coaching programmes perform exceptionally well among EAs and other high-impact individuals, evidenced by 70% retention (comparable to professional coaches/therapists) and consistently strong feedback. 

Caveats

  • Less Experienced Coaches: Most coaches currently available are newly trained. We estimate their effectiveness to be ~15% lower than that of our more experienced coaches.
  • Low domain expertise: Our coaches typically come from a psychology background and are trained to provide mental health support. They aren’t EAs. They aren't professional counsellors / coaches. Most of the value comes from the accountability, motivation, and behaviour change expertise they provide.
