In this video, I share a proposal for a collaborative volunteer-based organization to tackle the world's worst cruelties, inspired by my thoughts on effective altruism. I'd love your feedback on how to refine this idea and make it actionable.
This video has a lot of obvious imperfections, I will make more and better videos.
Here is transcript of the video:
You know that which most people ignore… The heart wrenching amount of suffering and cruelty in the world is crushing your soul.
Things like satanic ritual abuse of children, or torturing of animals in factories and laboratories or organised crime and wars
And you feel helpless, isolated, perhaps resentful that people are not organising themselves to just go and fight cruelty.
And you don't see how you could help in a way that would actually be sufficient. Donating, signing petitions, or even volunteering feels like a drop in the ocean + what to focus on? How can you have the biggest impact? And what will give you the light at the end of the tunnel?
I have a vision, an idea, how could we all come together to put our heads and hands down to work, more efficiently, and organized then ever before, and prevent more harm then ever before, save more lifes, than ever before and work towards having in the very long run… End all of the cruelties.
You know… Maybe you will see yourself in my struggle. I wondered where to put my effort… I searched for an organisation that would be bold enough, focus on the worst, hope for the best, organise people, give everybody a precise way to contribute and would strive to be the most effective, tangible solution.
And in my search I came across Effective Altruism.
But I wasn’t satisfied with the way it works. While I believe in it’s values, people there still operate in a very individualistic manner.
And so I am introducing my idea, and a vision for an organisation that I call with a working name: Reversed Company.
It would tackle the worst cruelties in the world through a global, collaborative, and transparent network of volunteers.
Here’s how it would work and how can you help me create it right now:
- The vision which will ideally connect hundrets of millions of volunteers across the globe is that the world will be free of worst unimaginable harms caused by people, that are such that you'd die for them to end.
It doesn't matter if we achieve it within several generations or many.
We can do it, together.
We've got to collaborate with our efforts.
We can work on it through innovative solutions from people from fields like economy, psychology, law, biology, politics, sociology and many others and through organising millions of volunteers who are willing to give they're skills and time from their homes or in the real world.
The best thing is, that even if we don't live to see the final victory, which may never be final anyways, we will start the most important organisation that needs to take place, we will create huge changes and the organisation will be the best place where humans ever came together and that will give everyone hope and purpose.
2. Prioritizing the Worst Suffering
The organization would focus on the most horrifying cruelties first, rather than the most convinient ones
That means, even if it is much easier to help millions of shrimps for just a few dollars, we concentrate on helping saving even a few kids from satanic abuse, even if it is harder and much less scalable.
My philosophy behind this is that I would rather suffer countless lives as a chicken in a cage, rather than being a kid raised and tortured in captivity.
I imagine we will tackle:
Child exploitation and trafficking, including cases of satanic abuse
- Animal suffering, such as cows tortured in factory farms, foxes skinned alive for their fur, and animals being subjected to tests in laboratories.
- Systemic abuse, including organized crime, human rights violations, and severe global injustices.
We would also have programs for tackling long term issues, like North Korea, over-all depth psychology and motivation of sadistic people, elevating human conscientiousness.
I know that this will be extremely challenging, as we will face some counter-force once we are just close to being a thread.
The ReversedCompany concept allows some people to pay attention to these longterm issues even if it feels futile in the short run, while there are burning fires all around, because you know that the human resources are allocated as effectively as possible.
Where we would focus attention would continuously be evolving based on new information and informed voting of volunteers who would be required to stay in touch with the inernal news.
3. Guided Volunteering
Anyone could join, as a part time volunteer from anywhere in the world.
They would fill out a profile and based on their skills and interests they'd be appointed a task.
If you are a high schooler who can't donate, you can be still important, you will be assigned some relatively easy task like editing instagram reels for a certain campaign or will be trained to help with a research.
If you are a psychologist, you can help us with understanding how to talk to public to create a needed cultural shift in a third world country to help change it's policies.
Or how to affect the mind of a dictator.
Or you can help educate volunteers, that are young students of psychology, on issues they don't learn enough in school but that are more connected with the most ugly problems.
If you are a volunteer in a charitable organization already, we can cooperate.
Volunteers will receive training if needed, and be assigned impactful tasks based on their skills and interests—ranging from creating campaigns to conducting research or raising awareness in their communities, or working on innovations or learning about a pressing issues and help brainstorm solutions.
Everyone contributes where they can, and those who excel can take on greater responsibilities.
4. News & Awareness
A dedicated teams would investigate and report on pressing global issues, such as mapping child trafficking networks, exposing factory farming practices, and analyzing the scale of systemic abuse.
Reporters would share progress and updates both internally and with the public, ensuring transparency and inspiring others to join.
They would do this via social media and insight the organisation in a app for volunteers for example.
The volunteers will follow these news in order to fill out quizzes to be able to participate in informed voting about big decisions of the organisation.
5. Dynamic Collaboration
Volunteers wouldn’t work in isolation.
The Reversed Company would partner with existing charities and projects, providing them with volunteers, insights, and funding while ensuring efforts are coordinated for maximum impact.
Of course this new born ReversedCompany would heavily rely on the established work of other organisations.
6. Leadership & Strategy
Transparent directives would guide the allocation of resources and volunteers, informed by data, research, and member input.
Specialized executives would lead projects in key areas, supported by volunteers and informed by research.
Volunteers could move up the hierarchy based on their skills and achievements.
7. Long-Term Innovation
Some issues are really hard to even imagine how to tackle, and it might not be effective or scalable to work on them at least in the short term, such as North Korea, or ending pedofile rings, or evening elevating the consciousness level (Spiral Dynamics) of humanity…. but still connecting people from different fields like law, psychology, economics, politics and what not to find innovations and longterm solutions or preventing strategies is worth it.
Working on issues like highly organized crime would of course raise large obstacles like the counterintelligence. However still… it’s worth fighting for and trying.
The fact that this will be happening in a large organisation, where people know there are appointed tasks logically and systematicly, everybody knows, they are the most useful, where they are, and furthermore they allow themselves just like other people to feel calmer, that all issues are being adressed, each with the most reasonable amount of attention.
8. Benefits for volunteers.
While volunteers would have duties, like staying in touch with internal news or being held accountable especially when it comes to more important tasks where some consequences for abandoning projects would be necessary...
They would also benefit by getting free training, hopefully even mentorship to get their own mental and physical health and careers and relationships together, so they can be the most efficient part of the Reversed Company.
They would grow, of course feel a sense of purpose and learn new skills.
I imagine, it could be effective to also motivate them by connected them directly with people their teams helped and sometimes rewarding them also with trips to see their impact in real life.
9. Growing the organisation
This whole thing will be dependent on the interconnecdness of well meaning people and organisations and on having a lot of volunteers.
So a big chunk of work of this Reversed Company would go to promote itself and grow itself
10. Strategy example
Let's take factory cruelties on animals.
Right now we have people trying to convince others to become vegans, others spreading awarness, and some creating petitions and pushing policies...
That's what I know at least.
Okay. I believe if enough people would understand that animal factories are often brutal concentration camps, they would agree on sending armies there and freeing the animals and taking care of them.
Let's imagine we get experts from different fields to work on a precise and definitive solution.
So we figure out how we could close the factories and take care of the surviving animals.
We would figure out a realistic scenario of what consequences will this radical solution have and how could people realistically change their diets without the fear of missing important nutrients or muscle gains and how we could start producing more meat in much more ethical local farms...
Then we would propose a referendum.
We would take marketers and psychologists together to create the most persuasive campaign.
We would create easy volunteer opportunities for people to join and learn how to persuade others on the problem so that we can quickly spread awarness.
We would frame our efforts as a mission, as an adventure, where we stick together in a war on cruelties for creating a wonderful world.
We would have numbers of people we need to persuade and we would count them. So we would have a tangible and trackable goal which will be very motivating for everybody.
We wouldn't try to blame people for eating meat, or trying to come up with arguments for eating vegetables, we would simply show people what cruelties are happening, remind them that eating meat is a sacred occasion, because an animal died for us to live, show them we have a tangible solution to end the cruelties now, while everybody, not just individuals, will restrict themselves, just like we did in lock downs when facing pandemic.
And when we meet the number of people persuaded in every country, we will have a referendum.
Of course in some countries you cannot have a referendum and food is scarcer. But still we can strategically find solutions for that too.
Why This Matters
Unlike traditional models, where a small team manages funds and projects, this approach directly involves people. It empowers individuals to tackle the world’s cruelties systematically and transparently. Imagine knowing that even if your efforts are focused on one issue—like factory farming—you’re part of an organization addressing all the most urgent problems, from human trafficking to organized crime.
Call to Action
This is a work in progress, and I’m open to collaboration and feedback.
Tell me why I'm wrong.
Or, if there’s already an organization with a similar approach, I’d love to join forces.
And if this vision resonates with you—if you want to be part of building something transformative—let’s start the journey together.
Just text me, this is my email: josefhorak11@gmail.com
We can start together by mapping out the worlds problems, educating each other and brainstorming solutions and propagate the idea to get it to more people.
I definetely want to create a more attractive video to get peoples attention then this one.
