TechCongress, an org that places technologists in the offices of members of US Congress to write policy, has opened an AI Safety Fellowship with applications due in just 10 days, on June 12

It pays well too. It is distinct from U.S. Artificial Intelligence Safety Institute with Paul Christiano and others, which I believe is in the executive branch, not the legislative branch like this one.

I think TechCongress, despite the name, does do Executive branch placements and I think this role in particular is targeted to the executive branch
