1. If you want to make a linkpost in the "standard" format, you can click the small hyperlink symbol underneath the post title in the editor to open a text field where you can paste the link.

2. If you don't add all the text from the article into the Forum post, I'd at least recommend including a brief summary of the main points in the post. This makes it easier for people to get the main ideas behind the update without reading something long, and helps them decide whether they want to click through and read the full article.
