I am an independent researcher with a keen interest in biosecurity, pandemic preparedness, global health and development, and farmed animal welfare. My work spans policy advocacy, stakeholder engagement, and project management.

I have experience working on biosecurity and public health-focused projects with organisations like 1Day Sooner and the Alliance for Reducing Microbial Resistance (ARMoR). My work includes policy advocacy for indoor air quality (IAQ) interventions in Singapore and Malaysia to enhance pandemic preparedness and advancing pull incentive policies for antimicrobial development in Nordic countries. I am passionate about exploring evidence-based solutions to global challenges and driving impactful interventions through collaboration.

How others can help me

  • I'm currently seeking opportunities to contribute to research or projects related to public health and pandemic prevention, such as infectious disease modelling (no prior experience), non-pharmaceutical interventions, or improving policies.
  • I would love advice on how to make the most of a Master of Public Health programme in 2025/26, including how to leverage it for a career in global health.

How I can help others

  • I’m happy to share my experience working on policy advocacy for indoor air quality interventions in Singapore and Malaysia, including stakeholder engagement and public health recommendations.
  • I can provide insights from my work on designing and advocating for pull incentive policies for antimicrobial development in Nordic countries.
  • I'm also happy to share my experiences with the Tianxia Research Mentorship Program, the Southeast Asia Farm Animal Welfare Fellowship, and the Sentient Media Social Media Fellowship. Also, insights from my strategy consulting work at Accenture and Global Food Partners, particularly in strategic planning, stakeholder management, and operations.

Hi, @freedomandutility, thank you so much for your comment!

Re: have not consulted or verified the facts - At the beginning of the project in February 2022, I discussed this with some EAs that have experience dealing with Chinese experts. I was cautioned against approaching them directly because (1) local researchers are generally aware of biosafety but not biosecurity and (2) it isn't easy for an individual, whether based within or outside of China, to access government agencies. Without a deep understanding of cultural nuances and field knowledge, I am not sure if I can effectively convey the biosecurity concept and the intentions of the research. But I agree that verifying things with Chinese experts will improve the write-up tremendously! Hope this clarifies.
