Originally started as a side project in 2023 and gradually scaling up, AI for Animals hosts an annual conference and monthly meetups in the Bay Area. We also cultivate an online community and coalition through the Hive Slack and release a monthly newsletter.

Our mission is to steer AI and other technological developments to maximize their positive impact on animals. We envision a vibrant ecosystem of stakeholders and resources supporting the adoption of paradigm-shifting solutions for all species. To do this, it is essential to identify and cultivate the high-leverage components needed to align the interests of animals with those of the future systems that will affect them. That is why we focus on developing the emerging field of AI/tech for animal welfare through community building, targeted stakeholder engagement, thought leadership, and strategic coordination.
