Axiological futurism is the systemic study of the values future agents might hold, or "the inquiry into how human values could change in the future" as John Danaher (2021) -- who coined the term -- puts it.

Predicting what our successors' moral preferences might be is essential for longtermist cause prioritization, as it helps us build better models of what the long-term future may look like by default and of how we could best impact it.
